As you probably know, I have written in many different genres—but my heart belongs to historical romance, first, last and always. I do not know how any one can compare a contemporary CEO or an FBI agent with a knight in shining armor or a nineteenth century rogue! In past eras, men were men and there was no confusion about who or what he was—and what he wanted. My heroes are powerful, arrogant and proud—they will move heaven and earth to protect and defend their interests and their loved ones—and they are lusty. The women who dare to love them must withstand their arrogance, their power and their lust, and always, these heroes are brought to their knees by one small, determined woman-- and the beast is tamed.
The de Warenne Dynasty began in the Norman Conquest. Currently it is set in Regency England and Ireland and is about the five de Warenne and O’Neill brothers and stepbrothers. For when Edward de Warenne, the earl of Adare, married the widowed Mary O’Neill in 1799, a great nineteenth century family was born. Edward had three sons and a daughter, Tyrell, Rex, Cliff and Eleanor, and Mary had two boys, Devlin and Sean. And everyone is as different as night and day.
The greatest fighting sea captain of his time, Devlin O’Neill lives only for revenge and will do anything to destroy the man who murdered his father, even if it means ruthlessly using a young woman to do so. Tyrell de Warenne, Adare’s heir, lives to do his duty, no matter what it costs him—until a woman appears on his doorstep, claiming to be the mother of his baby—which he knows is impossible! Rex de Warenne is a wounded war hero who lives in a dark, self-imposed and lonely exile on a modest manor in Cornwall—when his life is fatefully interrupted by a woman he has secretly admired for years. She, however, has her own secrets….Sean O’Neill had been Eleanor’s friend and protector her entire life, and she has been in love with him for as long as she can recall. But he returns home a traitor to the Crown, on the run from the British, just before her marriage to another. And Eleanor can hardly recognize this dark, dangerous stranger…. Cliff de Warenne is the greatest gentleman privateer of his era, and the most notorious ladies man in the land. Until he rescues a pirate’s illiterate and orphaned daughter….
